Frequently asked questions

What is ABD2DR?

ABD2DR is doctoral/dissertation support software that provides independent doctoral-level feedback on existing doctoral research. It supports the chair and committee process. It does not replace it.

What do I receive?

You receive a Microsoft Word document containing detailed comment bubbles directly inside your manuscript, including concerns, explanations, and next-step guidance.

How long does a review take?

Reviews typically take approximately 10–30 minutes. Larger or more complex manuscripts may take longer.

What files can I upload? Can I upload a PDF?

ABD2DR accepts Microsoft Word (.docx) files only. PDFs are not accepted.

Does ABD2DR support qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research?

Yes. ABD2DR evaluates the structure, alignment, logic, and required elements of empirical doctoral research. It does not provide comprehensive advanced statistical consulting or independently verify highly specialized statistical, technical, laboratory, or clinical conclusions.

What disciplines can use ABD2DR?

ABD2DR is designed primarily for empirical doctoral research in education, leadership, business and management, organizational studies, psychology, social and behavioral sciences, public administration, criminal justice, healthcare and health administration, nursing and allied health, human services, communication, and related applied fields. If your discipline is not listed, ABD2DR may still examine research architecture and alignment, but it does not claim specialist validation of highly technical subject-matter conclusions.

Is this proofreading, editing, or citation formatting?

No. ABD2DR may identify obvious citation/reference consistency problems, but it is not comprehensive proofreading, copyediting, or APA/MLA/Turabian formatting.

Does ABD2DR replace my chair or guarantee approval?

No. ABD2DR is a tool, not a final verdict. It does not guarantee approval, a successful defense, or graduation. Your chair, committee, and institution make those decisions.

What does “submission” mean?

A submission is one complete batch review of the entire chapter scope purchased. All purchased chapters must be uploaded together in one Word document.

Can I change chapters during a later submission?

No. Every later submission must contain revised versions of the same dissertation and the same originally purchased chapter set. Chapters may not be swapped or divided into separate submissions.

How long do I have to use my submissions?

Single Chapter: 60 days; 2-Chapter Alignment: 60 days; Proposal Alignment: 90 days; 4-Chapter Alignment: 90 days; Premium Full Dissertation: 120 days.

What happens if I do not use every submission?

Unused submissions expire at the end of the package usage window. They are not refundable, transferable, or redeemable for cash or future account credit.

What happens if ABD2DR technically fails?

A submission is consumed only when ABD2DR successfully returns a usable reviewed document. If a genuine system failure produces no usable review, ABD2DR will attempt to reprocess it. If the purchased service ultimately cannot be provided, appropriate refund handling may occur.

Are my dissertation files private, and why are they retained temporarily?

Customer manuscripts and reviews are confidential and are not sold, published, publicly displayed, or shared with other customers. Files are retained for a limited period for delivery, package administration, support, and recovery or resending, and are then deleted according to ABD2DR’s document-retention practices. Necessary service, infrastructure, and model providers may process content as required to provide the service.

What if my dissertation exceeds the standard word limit?

Do not remove legitimate dissertation content merely to fit a lower-priced package. Contact ABD2DR for a custom review quote.
